A letter from the Captain....

Friends and Family,

We raised to date $99,415 for our "little" team out of Lancaster, PA

We won most funds raised out of Tour de Pink East coast this past weekend

We were the Team to beat in many different aspects.  Our team jersey won best last year and took second this year. And... as always, some of our team members think this is "Race de Pink" and had to be the first across the finish line on a daily basis.

We, as a team, had the pleasure of adding a new teammate on Friday night when she sat down to eat dinner at our table.  A sweet, petite 28 y/o girl who was now stricken with breast cancer again (stage 4) with mets to her bone and liver.  She battled at 21 and subsequently had a relapse.  Our entire team welcomed her with open arms and "drafted" her along the entire 220 miles.  We effectively called our draft zone behind the big guys as " the vacuum on inner space" as there was SOOOOO much air being pushed for her, she was able to complete the entire tour without difficulty.  At first she questioned whether she would be able to complete while going through Chemo.

This is what this tour was all about and our entire team now has a new hero.

So thanks again to all of you for your support through this journey with our team.

-Dr. Younes & Team Captain

The money raised went to the Young Survival Coalition. Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful.
